Daily Play Call #94

13 You call Me the Teacher (Master) and the Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is what I am.

14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher (Master), have washed your feet, you ought [it is your duty, you are under obligation, you owe it] to wash one another’s feet.

John 13:13-14 AMPC

Wash one another's feet

In 2018, when I served as a youth pastor we had a foot washing service. We were going through the 4 Gospels spending time on each chapter and verse so we could talk about ALL of the commands of Jesus. Earlier in 2018 I spent months in prayer and fasting and the Lord was revealing to me things in my life that I was missing and was not pleasing unto Him. Once they were revealed I made the changes to walk in obedience to the Lord.

The Lord showed me that I needed to teach what He commanded all of us to teach. I began doing this with the youth and it was very powerful to see many of the youth want to be obedient to Jesus' commands.

When Jesus gave the command of washing the feet of one another, we can walk this out literally. Jesus said, "The greatest is the servant of all."(Mark 9:35) The lowest slave would wash the feet of people. Jesus is teaching them to be servants of all and to be humble.
