25 Anyone who loves his life loses it, but anyone who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal. [Whoever has no love for, no concern for, no regard for his life here on earth, but despises it, preserves his life forever and ever.]
John 12:25 AMPC

DO You Love Your Life?
Jesus is letting his disciples know that we all must deny ourselves and look forward to our eternal life with the Father in Heaven. We must remember that God HATES sin.
9 You have loved righteousness [You have delighted in integrity, virtue, and uprightness in purpose, thought, and action] and You have hated lawlessness (injustice and iniquity).
Hebrews 1:9 AMPC
We should also HATE sin as well. In this world, we have lived a life of sin. When we come to Christ we are a new creation and should no longer live a sinful life. We should Love what God loves and Hate what He hates. We should hate every sin that we commit.
Jesus doesn't want us to love our life here in this world. We should be striving and aiming towards our new life in the Celestial City where there is no sin and death.
9 [Let your] love be sincere (a real thing); hate what is evil [loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness], but hold fast to that which is good.
Romans 12:9 AMPC
