Daily Play Call #49

19 But when they deliver you up, do not be anxious about how or what you are to speak; for what you are to say will be given you in that very hour and moment,

20 For it is not you who are speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Matthew 10:19-20 AMPC

Follow the holy spirit

Jesus is commanding His disciples on what to do when they are brought up to authorities because of their persecution. He tells them do not try to think of what to say but be led by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will be speaking through us in that very moment. I have experienced this many times when I am out evangelizing. The Holy Spirit will give me exactly what to say in that moment. There have been many times when I am invited to speak and the Lord gives me the exact words to say without even going to my notes. It is usually for someone in the audience who is listening. God loves us and He desires for His children to know that He is with them. Many have become discouraged in the faith and feel like giving up. Whatever the Lord leads us to say, we should be Holy Spirit led.

Sometimes, there is rebuking and correction from the Lord. When the Lord tells us to repent and turn away from sin, we should obey our Father. He wants us to live in His Kingdom with Him for all eternity. We must respect and obey the commands of His Kingdom in order to dwell with Him.

14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Romans 8:14 AMPC

  • It is a must that we are Holy Spirit led. The Holy Spirit will lead us to obey Jesus.

23 Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him.

24 Anyone who does not [really] love Me does not observe and obey My teaching. And the teaching which you hear and heed is not Mine, but [comes] from the Father Who sent Me.

25 I have told you these things while I am still with you.

26 But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

John 14:23-26 AMPC

  • The Holy Spirit will bring into our remembrance the Words of Jesus. Let's Follow His leading!
