Freely give
Our Lord Jesus is commanding the 12 disciples before they are sent out. He tells them in verse 8 to cure the sick, raise the dead, heal those with skin diseases, and to cast out demons. He then says freely as you have received, freely give without charge. Usually, those who practiced magic or who were sorcerers who went about healing people charged for their services. People who went to witch doctors had to pay a fee. Jesus commands His disciples to not operate that way. They help others freely. Jesus did not charge them or anyone for His teachings or the miracles that He did. He never charged anyone just to preach the Word of God. It was freely given to everyone.
We should do the same and not charge anyone to be healed, or demons to be cast out, or for someone to be raised from the dead. Many people need to consider to not charge when they are invited to speak or share about the Gospel. We should go without charge and be willing to accept an offering that people can give freely. Many people can't afford to pay to hear someone speak about the Word of God and it isn't right because those people who need to hear are not able to hear because they have no money.
I wanted to make sure that my books that are about the Gospel are free of charge. They are easily obtainable on the app and also on my website. Many people like to read paperback books so they are also available for sale on Amazon or Barnes & Noble if people desire a paperback book. Whenever I am invited to speak I do not charge. If the people desire to bless me for coming to speak I will take whatever they give and be thankful.
I wanted to make sure that we provided an app that was free of charge so people can easily obtain the Gospel. I have paid out of my own pocket to help pay the monthly fees for the maintenance of the app. We are also thankful for the people who help support this ministry so this app and the Gospel can reach more people free of charge.
