Teach Jesus' Playcalls
Jesus commanded His disciples/apostles on a mountain in Galilee to teach ALL nations to obey everything He commanded them. The word observe in the Greek is tēreō – means to keep, guard, attend to carefully, to reserve: to undergo something. This is the same word used in John 14:15 but translated as keep. “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
We call Jesus Lord, but what does it mean? The definition of Lord in the Greek is kyrios – master, ruler, or owner. The bible says in Romans 10:9, “If we confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.” The Bible also says in 1 Corinthians 12:3, that, “No one can say Jesus is Lord, except only by the Holy Spirit.” If we call Jesus Lord (master, owner, ruler), shouldn’t we obey what He says?
In football we call our leader, “Coach” (instructor, teacher). We refer to them as coach; therefore, we obey what they say. Let’s look at what Jesus says in the book of Luke. "46 Why do you call Me, Lord, Lord, and do not [practice] what I tell you?"
