18 Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).
Luke 18:1 AMPC
Always pray!
Jesus gives us a command that we are to always pray and to not turn coward or give up. We will go through various trials and tribulations in life. If we remain faithful and persevere we will overcome them (Acts 14:22).
When I was young my grandmother taught me how to pray. She taught me the Lord's prayer and since I was kid, I would always say it before I went to bed at night.
During my time in college, I started praying before and after each game. It became a good habit. My senior year was when I started praying before each play. When I was about to do kick return, I would pray and ask the Lord to help me. Everytime I prayed to the Lord I believed it and received.
Prayer is so important because it is communication with the Father. Jesus our Lord, intercedes for us as He is seated at the right hand of the Father (Romans 8:34).
As a Playmaker In The Faith, we can look at prayer as time-outs in sports. Time-outs allow the players to talk with their coaches. In football, each team gets 3 time outs in the first half and 3 time outs in the second half. In life, we have unlimited time outs. We can prayer anywhere or at anytime. When we are being attacked with fear, worry, anxiety, or depression, we need to pray until we have peace. If we continue to seek after God, He will give us peace (Philippians 4:6-7)
Remember, always pray and do not be a coward!
